Diamond Bell was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. A proud graduate of Pearl-Cohn High School and Trevecca Nazarene University, Diamond’s purpose became clear early on: to serve and uplift her community with love, respect, and passion.
Her commitment to justice and equity was sparked in part by witnessing the dismantling of homeless encampments across Nashville—an act that deeply affected her. But her drive to fight for others is rooted even deeper, in her own life experiences. Raised by a single mother and having lost her father at a young age, Diamond knows firsthand the challenges that come with growing up in a family facing economic hardship. By middle school, she experienced displacement and homelessness herself. These experiences shaped her understanding of systemic injustice and lit a fire in her to use her to organize for systemic change.
In the fall of 2021, Diamond began her work in politics and community organizing, becoming an organizer with Stand Up Nashville. She takes the most pride in the work she led with displaced residents. Her organizing work included canvassing neighborhoods, organizing resource events, and connecting families to legal aid and critical support systems.
Now serving as Youth Coordinator, she brings bold empathy, lived experience, and unwavering dedication to creating an equitable Nashville. As Diamond puts it:
“I give back not because I have a lot to give but because I know what it’s like to be counted out and looked over.”
