Aaron T. McGee is a dedicated nonprofit leader from Antioch, Tennessee, with a profound commitment to youth development, education, and social justice. With over a decade of experience, Aaron has held leadership roles at several organizations, including CEO of Youth Life Foundation of Tennessee, where he managed day-to-day operations and revitalized organizational culture. He has also served as a Vice President at Oasis Center and held positions at the YMCA and EducateME Foundation, focusing on empowering youth and advocating for equitable educational practices.
Aaron has actively advocated during public hearings at the Metro Nashville Public Schools Board of Education, working to reduce punitive disciplinary actions against Black and Brown students and promoting restorative practices and equity in education. A graduate of Maplewood High School, Aaron earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Civic Leadership from Lipscomb University. He is currently pursuing his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at Tennessee State University, furthering his commitment to community leadership.
Having previously volunteered and interned with the Southern Movement Committee, Aaron has supported initiatives centered on participatory democracy and community empowerment. As the newly appointed Staff Manager, he is focused on fostering relationships within marginalized communities and advancing the mission of the Southern Movement Committee, which is dedicated to racial justice and human rights. Aaron believes that effective advocacy and community engagement are essential for creating lasting change.
